Another sunset passes before my eyes as the car travels the road leading somewhere. It's the fourth sunset since I arrived on this island. It'll be the second sunset that I won't be seeing Sir.

He left yesterday – to have his hand checked, I hope. Asshole! Sir didn't say anything, so I only speculated. He only looked at me and stepped into his car. No goodbyes or anything. Like I'm a piece of furniture in this mansion that doesn't matter to him.

But he cared a little.

Sir sent somebody to give me a tour. I stopped by a village and joined the locals for lunch. The people had warm smiles like the weather. The whole island is indeed a paradise. Anyone who stayed here could never forget it. I frown while looking at the graying sea. I'm probably the fiftieth woman who can never forget it. Another woman will see this majestic place after me. I'll only be dreaming of it and him.

I tried asking the locals who the man was, but nobody knew him. They only call him "Doctor," proving my suspicion that he is one.

I roll down the window shield and lay my head on the door. The driver-slash-guide continues to explain the spots we pass through, but I'm still preoccupied with who Sir is.

The locals have high respect for him and see him as a philanthropist. Instead of kicking the small community out of his island after buying it, he retained and provided for them.

Sir had a school and a clinic built for them. He gives free checkups when he comes. The people are thankful that he developed the island and for allowing his friends to rent the units. The locals enjoy the extra jobs they get when there are guests.

So, Sir is a good man? A good doctor? Why is he vague when it comes to me?

I sit straight while sighing. The driver slows down the car. “Are you okay, Miss Tannie?”

I want to yell from the top of my lungs. Tannie! Everyone on this island knows me by that name. That's not me! I want to scream it to the whole island. But I can't because of our contract. I am Tannie while I'm here.

“I think I’ve had enough, Tomas,” I tell the driver when he pulls in front of a dock. “Let’s see the ocean tomorrow.”

"No, Miss Tannie. The doctor wants me to bring you to Honolulu," my eyes widen. Tomas smiles. "I don't know if it will help lift your spirits, but you're the first girl he ordered to be taken out of the island before her time to leave."

I flash a fake smile at the driver. The first girl? I snort and frown at the speed boat. Tomas thinks I'm special because of his boss's order.

“That Doctor Sir only needs holes to fill,” I murmur while stepping into the boat.

But the thought of seeing him after almost two days fills me with longing and excitement. My muscles rejoice at the thought of him holding me in his arms. My nerves tingle while imagining how his lips feel when he kisses every inch of me again.
