“When you said I’ll have the last day, you didn’t mean the last day of my life, right?”
The man who assists us with the equipment laughs. She frowns at him and back at me. She becomes curious when the man attaches my suit to hers. She wants to ask something but waits for the man to finish explaining to me.
I look at her and smile. The panic in her eyes enhances her beauty. After the man finishes explaining, I block Carmen's mouth with a kiss to stop her from asking questions. "Let's get going."
“W-wait. You’re the one leading?”
“Run, Carmen,” I whisper while pushing her forward.
Despite the confusion, she moves her feet. She holds my hand and screams when the parachute lifts us from the ground. “Y-you know how to do this, right?”
“Trust me,” I assure her. “Now, breathe and look down.”
Her hold on my hand weakens when I point the view of the mountains at her. A smile breaks out on her face and slowly grows into a joyful laugh as the view of the island fills her eyes. The beauty of the island can't compete with her happy, gorgeous face.
What am I doing? Last night, I cut our contract short because Carmen is becoming a risk. But here I am – taking a higher risk. I couldn't say no to her boldness in asking me out. Cinderella for a day and a half? It was against the rules, but I broke them for her. I want to know her more than what her portfolio tells about her. Also, a part of me wishes that she'll remember me not only as the man who had her first or her master for a few days. But somebody she will long to see again.
“We’re not going to drop and die, right?” she screams when I suddenly turn the parachute. “Sir!”
I kiss the back of her head and whisper, "Do you want to know how it feels to become the lead surgeon for the first time?" Carmen faces me with interest in her eyes. "This is exactly how it feels. Flying but still careful. Fighting against the inconsistencies of the wind. Until you finally see the landing point for a safe finish."
Carmen smiles and holds my hand as I drive the parachute to the landing area near the empty beach. She pushes her back against me and trusts me to land us safely on the ground. Her laugh echoes through the wind when our feet touch the ground. The wind blows the parachute before I can take it off and pull us to the ground.
"That was better than my first orgasm," Carmen declares while removing the locks attaching us. She crawls on top of me and levels her head to mine. "No offense, Sir."
I laugh and point her to a corner where the surprise lunch waits for us. The people from the village are busy putting different dishes on a long table. Her eyes light up after seeing the familiar faces who kept her company while I was gone. The locals have teasing smiles on their faces while Carmen and I stay glued to each other.
Carmen looks at me and asks, “When did you plan this?”
“It’s easy when you own the island,” I brush the hair off her face. “You get to decide what to do next after lunch.”
“Thank you,” Carmen smiles and kisses me. “Sir.”
I stop her from rolling away from me. She gives me a questioning look when I stare at her face. Should I tell her my name? Carmen calls me “Sir,” and it’s only one letter different from my nickname. I’m Sin. It’s two short words, but I hesitate. The words bear a heavy weight that I don’t want to carry.
“Can we sail after lunch?” Carmen asks.
“Whatever you want,” I reply and let her slide away from me.
