Network security tools

Owing to the increased breaches facilitated through the network, the cybersecurity industry finally responded with more specialized tools that could prevent attacks that were coming from the network. They, therefore, came up with intrusion detection and prevention systems and major improvements to the rudimentary firewalls that were in use. However, these were still signature-based systems. Initially, they were effective in stopping the network breaches, since hackers did not know many workarounds. They were able to block malicious traffic and keep away hackers from carrying out malicious activities on networks. However, hackers would soon discover ways to beat the network security tools. Therefore, network intrusions came back and the tools designed to prevent them were unable to keep up with newer attack techniques. This caused the cybersecurity industry to respond in the 2000s with more additions to cybersecurity.
