CHAPTER 4: New Beliefs

Your thoughts create your reality. I was first introduced to this concept in 1992 by Wayne Dyer and it has been the central theme of my self-work as well as my coaching work since then. The Law of Attraction says that when we are feeling a negative emotion, we are resisting something that we want, and that creating positive thoughts will make our vibrational frequency higher which will attract good things to us. Therefore, we must intentionally develop thoughts that will attract what we want. Yet how do we do this if we are resisting something we want? Why would we resist something we want?

If your mind is choosing not to have what you truly want it is because it is believing that a limiting factor is a problem.

When I work with women entrepreneurs, the most common thing I hear them say is “I’m just not smart enough to do this.” Each time I hear this, I find it ironic because frequently these are women who not only have graduate degrees but have launched successful businesses. How and why does this happen?  

Herein lies what I believe is one of the key reasons why women hold themselves back.
