Day 15
Boldness

journal

Do you find yourself hesitating or drawing back when you should be moving forward in faith and boldness? Journal about a specific area where you need boldness in your life.

meditate

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:16 NKJV

devotional

Read Hebrews 4:1–16.

One of my favorite scenes of the 1999 movie Anna and the King is when the little girl comes in to fetch her father, the king. Everyone in the room is bowing their heads to the ground out of reverence for the king, and Princess Fa-Ying pushes open the heavy doors and marches boldly to her father and crawls confidently into his arms and whispers in his ear. Even though the king is talking to dignitaries, he immediately responds to his daughter’s request and carries her to the schoolroom to attend to her needs.

How much more boldly can we come to God’s throne to obtain mercy and grace to help us in our time of need. We can crawl into daddy God’s arms and know that He not only cares about our needs, but He is the most powerful One in the universe and makes things work for our good.

pray aloud

Father God, I boldly come to your throne, believing that you not only care for me and my needs, but that you will help me. I need your mercy and your grace to empower me. Help me to embrace you as my daddy and crawl into your lap without fear. You are the God of the universe. You are all-powerful. You are all-loving. I worship you, trust you, and love you with all of my heart. In the name of your Son I pray, amen.

declare

I am bold.
