Lady was a bad actress, but she was a devastating presence. What I mean is that in order to get anything worthwhile, we had to capture her living authentically. We had to film her scenes as they happened to her in real life, in real time. So we started recording everything, all of it, a constant eye on her; more like surveillance than cinema.
