It’s amazing what can be done when you seductively wave a technological revolution in one hand and a hundred billion dollars in the other. The law firm put a plan in place in two days. It took another day to sign the paperwork.
The world’s top game development managers were onboard with a few phone calls. As the new CEO, Ted “Boingy” Binghamton said, “Change the world? Yeah, for starters.” Boingy would manage antigravity consulting and software development.
The US government wanted them under DARPA or the Department of Energy, but they wisely avoided those bureaucracies. Universities were even worse for bureaucracy, also avoided. Lockheed’s Skunk Works was too hardware oriented.
As Boingy said, “Fuck that. The number crunching to shape gravity waves is similar to graphics processing for video games. As are the historical research and futuristic imagination to guide a revolution. Gaming fits this like a condom.”
The team’s goal would be to build an antigravity development system, similar to a game development system, with all the design tools, program libraries, compilers, and debuggers needed to simplify developing new antigravity applications. In the software trade such a system is called a ‘development environment’. So they would build GUIDE - the Gravity User Integrated Development Environment.
