6.    WEIGHTS AND MEASURES

BOTH IMPERIAL and metric measurements have been given in this book with the imperial measures having been rounded up or down to the nearest unit. Remember to use one or the other and not to combine imperial and metric measurements in one recipe.

All spoon measurements throughout the book are slightly rounded spoonfuls unless specified as being level.

Fluid ounces refer to the British fluid ounce, which is slightly smaller than the US equivalent. This difference is not significant for the recipes in this book.

Cup size is half a US pint or the metric cup (250 mL).
