Dear Reader,
It’s hard as an author to create “real” people, but if a book’s to be believable, you must know your characters inside out. So you dream someone up, and then you create another someone, every bit as complex. Then you give them a conflict that challenges every part of them, and the fun begins. How will they deal with it? Can they deal with it?
Iona has offered to be a surrogate for her twin sister and her husband. She’s been badly hurt, and all she cares about is her career as a doctor and her twin sister who she loves with all her heart, but she has reservations about carrying a stranger’s baby and she doesn’t know anyone she feels she could ask to be their donor.
And then Joe strides into her life, perfect in almost every way. He’s as hurt and wary as she is, but he agrees to help. And then it all spirals out of control...
Could I make it work for them, give them the happiness they deserved? Maybe, but it seemed, at times, like an impossible task. Did I succeed? I’ll let you be the judge.
