1 Qualitex Green-Gold: You may not know this color, but Qualitex v. Jacobson Products Co., Inc., is what put “colormarking” on the map. Qualitex used a unique blend of green and gold on its dry cleaning presses, but in 1989 competitor Jacobson began using the exact same shade, allegedly to confuse businesses into buying their product instead. Qualitex successfully sued Jacobson, and the practice of “colormarking” was born.
