Writing a novel has much in common with cross-country bicycling. Both can be long, lonely slogs that leave you tremendously grateful for the kind people you meet along the way. (And both require lots and lots and lots of candy bars, cookies, and pie.)
I’m so lucky to have been welcomed as a novelist by my editor, Margaret Ferguson, and my literary agent, Ammi-Joan Paquette. Thanks also to the entire Erin Murphy Literary Agency gang and the Emu’s Debuts team—too bad there’s not a word yet for old friends who’ve just met. A big hug to just about the whole town of East Longmeadow, especially the ELPL librarians and my MOMS Club, for sharing my excitement on this book-publishing journey.
