A Note from the Two Navy Guys

Death of a Pawn mixes fact and fiction. The AMIA bombing that opens the story was a real – and horrific -- event. Alberto Nisman really was an Argentinean Special Prosecutor assigned to investigate the bombing and he really was found dead hours before his public testimony.

It’s also true that Hezbollah has a healthy presence in Argentina and multiple intelligence agencies have indicated Iranian involvement in both the bombing and Nisman’s death.

The facts end there.

At the time of this tragedy, we were hip-deep in revisions to our novel, Weapons of Mass Deception. In the book, there’s a Hezbollah sleeper cell in South America, headed by Rafiq Roshed.

Imagine our surprise when we looked at the date-time stamps on our chapters and found that Rafiq was near Buenos Aires at exactly the same time as Alberto Nisman was killed…

Let’s be clear: Rafiq Roshed is a man with a (warped) code of conduct, but he is no hero. In crafting “Death of a Pawn,” we chose to use an existing fictional character to draw attention to the Nisman tragedy.

To see some real heroes in action, then your next stop on the reading train should be Weapons of Mass Deception, a national security thriller that weaves history and fact into a riveting tale about the threats of our modern age and the men and women who keep us safe every day.

Start reading Weapons of Mass Deception and join us on a no-holds-barred ride through enemy territory--where the stakes are higher than you can possibly imagine.

Happy reading –
