“Who are you?.”questioned Chris without looking at the big man who was willing to ask him questions in front of us.Kim’s uncle sat in one of the spare hospital room on the same floor,his eyes for some reason were highly amused at the young boy who sat in front of him.I was still in tears and Chris just could not ignore it,he was getting mad minute by minute.

We were shocked and he sensed it,Chris’s head shot up instantly,it was the forbidden territory,once open,its gates remained shut after something terrible happened there.William,Kim’s uncle removed an handkerchief from his pocket, while he wiped Chris’s bloody hand he kept a firm eye contact with him,to everyone’s surprise,Chris too did not blink,he glared in response.
“We found a body,it was your newly appointed music teacher I’m afraid.”
We were doomed,one single drop of tear escaped Chris’s eye and Kim’s uncle instantly broke his eye contact with him,allowing space I guess.
“My sister?.”I cried,Kim stared at him angrily.
“We did not find any body of a witch.”he waited measuring each of our expressions,I wanted to bombard him but something within me stopped,he added hastily, “I’m afraid you won’t be able to see her ever in your life again.”
“No...”Kim tried but before she could continue her uncle fired in an annoyed tone.
“You don’t have the slightest idea who are you dealing with.”
“Then tell us.”demanded Sipper while Rocky tried in vain to pull her back.
He was breathing as though something was killing him within.
“What is it?.”asked Kim.
“Those gates were open once,the true story about Baltia was never made public to anyone.Its believed till date it is a home for the most heinous creature of all the time,he was cursed to keep everything in peace but now we come to know...” he was wiping his forehead, “What?.” I cried.
“He is come back to life.We found traces of him the day your sister was born.He has a connection with her.Mr Bodwin was nothing but a product of ancient magic,such a man did not live or was born,he was only a shell.Its a dark sorcery,he has unfinished business with her,she has been taken back.When you lost your parents,she was found there,recently something did finish his patience,he has her and I don’t know why.”
There was something that he was hiding,he was not giving us answers but had complicated things more than ever.
“I want my sister back.”I fumed, “You are not being honest with us.”
“Trust me you don’t want to know.”he added gravely.
“She is not somebody who we can forget or afford to loose.”snapped Kim stopping Sipper just in time with her left hand.
“She is not going to come back,he won’t allow her to come back.”
“Who is he?.”I shouted.
Troy stepped forward and so did Rocky,Chris glared at him. “I need more time before I can get you extra evidence.Its far complicated than I ever thought.Be careful,they were attacked for a reason I’m afraid.”he was leaving.
“When are you going to tell us more about her...”
“I need one more week.”his voice came from a distance,he was talking without turning back.
“Don’t you think it is way late.”
“I wish we are not that late.” he turned and for the first time his face was sorrowful.
“I don’t buy anything that he said.”Chris was mad,naturally,how could I miss,his favorite teacher was dead and his friend was hurting inside,things were far worst for him.
The doctor came out he had a faint smile on his lips. “They will be okay,should be up within couple of minutes.I think you all should be careful.”he added and waved at a girl who left quickly,she was with Kim’s uncle,how could I forget her,Ms Freeshe.
“What was it?.”demanded Kim.
He stopped just in time and turned reluctantly, “They have been attacked,its not a healthy sign,Jill was being cursed and the boy,um..Roy he was being forced to change,who ever it was they did not succeed or I think changed their mind at last minute,some thing tells me whatever or whoever it was,he or she is not good,I have never seen anything so neatly done,rare magic this one.”he gulped and walked “Her skin is healing and there is one more thing you should know,I found your sisters traces all over her skin,she was there when Jill was attacked.Your friend,the boy was a moron,he had a chance to do right things but he missed.Be careful,value your life,its good to have courage and facts at hand before jumping to conclusions.”
One last look at us while he turned to his office showed us that he too was hiding something very important from us.
With Jill down I was so helpless,Ruth too was not at my side,Kim stood straight,she was a female like this,not willing to give up.Sipper was by my side crying,I could do the same and I did.
People came and went,Chris watched me silently,his eyes did not leave me for a minute and I knew exactly why.
Everybody who we had turned to help and facts were hiding something,something which I guess was obvious to the mixbreeds.The coffee cup in my hand was burning, likewise was my heart,I was regretting spending time with him,those were my most beautiful nights.
Because of him Mr Bodwin entered in our life and home,he took Ruth away from us,my sister was surely in pain and here I was not able to connect with her.He tried again to talk with me but I ignored him,Kim was by my side and Rocky sat on the floor next to Sipper,his hand was over her lap,he too was guarding his girl and Troy was no different,he allowed Kim space but his one eye was always on her.
I did not know when I slept but when I opened my eyes it was the worst dream I ever had,my voice was stuck in my throat,Kim was aware and she knew what I was capable of,I think she did figure it out,for me it was a Warning.
