Obsidian
“Uncle Sid,” Iver screeched as he came running down from the school building to where I parked my car.
“Nephew Iver,” I replied with a laugh. “Are you meant to be outside, or are you supposed to be studying?”
Iver’s grin was cheeky. “I was supposed to be going to the garden to work with Trudy because I’d finished all my work for the day, but then I saw you.”
I chuckled. “Alright, get down the garden before your Dad comes and kicks my ass for distracting you.”
“Dad would never do that,” Iver said with a roll of his eyes before he turned to Pitt. “I’m glad you found your mate.”
Pitt grinned and leaned into my side. “I’m glad too.”
Iver turned and took off toward the garden where Trudy would be waiting for him. “Come on, let's go and chat with Anghus and Joachim. Bacchus will probably be at work.”
Pitt nodded his head and followed me into the main house. Joachim was sitting on Anghus’s lap as they kissed.
“Gross,” I complained, causing Anghus to throw his head back and laugh.
“Dude, what are you even doing out of the bedroom?” he asked.
I chuckled. “I needed to give little Obsidian a rest for a few hours.”
“Weak,” Anghus replied with laughter.
“No, just need to pace me; I’m a marathon fucker, not a sprinter like some.”
Anghus laughed so hard I thought he would fall out of the chair he was sitting in.
“Alright, alright. Iver said that you’d probably be around today. So, does this mean you will move to the compound?”
I glanced at Pitt, who looked at me with wide eyes that Anghus knew what to expect. There were no secrets where Iver was concerned.
“Yeah. Pitt said he felt really comfortable here. And the apartment won’t work if we have kids.”
Anghus nodded before tapping on Joachim’s leg to get him to stand. Once Anghus was out of the chair, he pulled out a piece of paper that appeared to be a map of the compound.
“The plots highlighted in orange are the family homes that have been built already. The ones in green are the plots where houses could be built, so it’s up to you whether you want to build your own place or move into one of the houses,” Anghus said.
“I want to buy one from you, Anghus, you know that, don’t you?” I said.
Anghus rolled his eyes. “I swear you Rigby’s are a pain in the ass. None of you let me just give you something.”
I chuckled. “It was how Mama and Papa raised us.”
Anghus smiled and looked over at Pitt. “What would you rather, Pitt, build your own house or just move into one already built?”
“I don’t mind, really. I’m more interested in where the property is,” Pitt replied before looking over at me. “Of course, that’s if you want to, but I’d really like to live near the creek. I felt the most at home there.”
I smiled and nodded my head. “Of course, that’s possible. I don’t mind where we live as long as we are together.”
“That’s so gorgeous,” Joachim gushed. “Remember when we were like that?”
Anghus snorted. “We are still like that.”
Joachim rolled his eyes and put his hands on his hips. “Only when you are begging for another baby.”
“Oh, still not on board?” I asked Joachim.
“I’m warming more to it, but I’m still thinking about it,” he replied, causing Anghus’s smile to grow.
I smirked and looked down at the map. “There are two houses that are built right next to the creek, and there are two more plots where we could build if you wanted,” I said as I pointed out the properties to Pitt.
One of the properties was already taken by Freya and her mates. I knew they liked living at the back of the compound because of their lifestyle. The two empty blocks sat between their home and one of the built homes.
“Can we go and see the built homes? I think they would work well for us, and we can move in straight away,” Pitt said.
“Sure, I can take you to look at them,” Anghus said. “They are all three bedrooms, two bathrooms. You have a secured yard so the little ones can play without worrying about them going into the creek.”
Pitt smiled. “I like the sound of that.”
“Of course, if you want to change the color on the inside or do whatever to it, you can,” Joachim said.
Pitt’s smile was huge when he glanced at me and nodded his head. “I think that sounds perfect.”
I leaned forward and pressed a kiss on Pitt’s cheek. “Me too, baby.”
