ATTACKING THE TALIBAN

An F-14 Tomcat and an F/A-18 Hornet aircraft assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise complete air-to-air refueling operations with a U.S. Air Force KC-10 Extender from the 763rd Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron on October 5. The refueling squadron supports Navy jets conducting missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

President George W. Bush announces that U.S. Armed Forces have begun a bombing campaign of Afghanistan on Sunday, October 7. The U.S. launched attacks against Afghanistan as a new front in its war on terrorism.
