THE MEMORIAL
With the skyline of New York City as a backdrop, people light candles after 7:00 pm 14th September 2001 to remember those lost in the World Trade Center disaster.
A fireman is in a contemplative mood as the skirl of bagpipes broke the still morning air as hundreds of New York City fire-fighters paid last respects to Mychal Judge, their chaplain of 10 years who perished in the destruction of the World Trade Center. Judge, a 68-year-old Franciscan priest, died while giving last rites to a fire-fighter who perished when the twin towers collapsed after two hijacked passenger jets rammed into them. 15th September 2001.
