MY AMISH MONEY MAKEOVER

Much to my frugal foodie delight, you can save money by buying food directly from the farmer. It’s the next best thing to what most Amish folks do, which is grow, butcher, cure, pickle, and bake their own food.

To Do: Google a local CSA or farm-to-table operation near you, and inquire about prices. Make room in your freezer for all the abundance, and prepare to eat like kings and queens on a peasant’s pittance. Also, consider planting a garden or joining a community garden. Preserving your harvest will save you even more!
