John Burnett is a former investigative reporter and speech-writer for Congressmen in Washington. Getting out of politics, he worked for the US Department of Interior, before spending years as writer/adventurer and considerable time as a professional seaman. He is the author of one previous book; Dangerous Waters: Modern Piracy and Terror on the High Seas.
