This tiny psilocybe has a convex or flat cap up to 1" wide that is sticky when wet, colored reddish-brown, and has a striated margin. The stalk is thin, equal along its width, pale brown, and may or may not have a collar. Gills are attached, pale brown to purplish-brown. Spore print is purplish-brown. Dung-loving Psilocybes prefer to grow (you guessed it) in the dung of cattle and are found throughout North America during the summer and fall. They are hallucinogenic.
