You'd think that turning on your Macintosh would be easy—and it is. To turn a Macintosh on, just press the power button, which is usually located on the front or back of your machine, depending on the type of Macintosh you have. Once you've pressed the power button, your Macintosh should start up. If there's anything wrong with the hardware in your computer, such as a defective memory chip, it won't start up and you'll probably need to take it to a repair shop. (Unless you're a hardware expert, you probably shouldn't try to fix your own Macintosh because you could damage something and void the warranty.)
When you're done using your Macintosh, you can turn it off. You can also schedule times for your Macintosh to turn itself off and on automatically.
Project goal: Learn how to turn your Macintosh on and off in different ways or automatically according to a fixed schedule.
