Many websites offer video that you can watch on your computer. Unfortunately, every website offers video stored in different file formats. To view video stored in different file formats, you need to download and install special video player programs that know how to play particular video files.
Four types of video file formats are most commonly used on websites:
Flash
QuickTime
RealVideo
Windows Media
The Macintosh can recognize and play videos stored in Flash or QuickTime formats. However, some websites store video in RealVideo or Windows Media formats, which means you can't view those videos until you download and install a player that can recognize and play RealVideo or Windows Media files.
Project goal: Download and install video player programs so you can view any videos on any website.
