ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

If you’ve read the acknowledgements in Ignite, you’ll know that the story of Ignite was inspired by the amazing cover Jay Aheer posted in her group. I saw it, and I had to have it, and from that one image, this story was born.

My son helped me shape this story with his ideas about meteors that contained aliens. He also thought up two of the main characters’ names and the planet the aliens come from. One day, he’ll be old enough to read this…and I hope he’ll be proud.

When I wrote Ignite, in 2018, I shared my frustration about the inequality that still exists for LGBTQ people worldwide, but even in the United States. Sadly, in early 2020, things have not improved, on the contrary. It’s why I will continue to speak out for LGBTQ rights whenever and wherever I can.

A few readers have messaged me to say that authors should not get political and that they don’t agree with me speaking out against the current administration, but I vehemently disagree. I’m a human being first, and as a human being, I cannot keep silent when injustice is done to my fellow humans, other they are immigrants, undocumented immigrants, Jews, LGBTQ folks, people of color, women, or anyone else. History has shown us that staying silent and compliant results in horrible atrocities. If we say never again, then we should act accordingly. Okay, I’ll climb off my soap box now.

A huge thanks to my regular beta readers TA, Vicki, Abbie, and Amanda, but also to Nonny Mous for her invaluable input on weapons and Kaitlyn B., Stacey H., and Amber C. who beta read and checked for errors about the farming and firearms aspects. Thank you guys so much!

And my editor Tanja Ongkiehong did an amazing job on the editing. I’m so proud of us Dutchies!

My PA and right hand Vicki: insert mushy shit here. Very mushy shit. One more book with spider bots, and then we’re done, haha!

Last but not least, as always a huge thanks to all my readers. Thank you so much for reading my books and telling me how much you love them. It’s a rush, every single time again.

If you loved this book, please leave a review, as it’s one of the most helpful things you can do for an indie author!
