Camouflage

When you see me

You’re looking at what you believe is real

But I wear layers of camouflage

So no one can begin to understand

The real and true me

I glow like gold

On the outside

And no one can hear me screaming inside

If I took a tool

No man has made

And stripped the layers of camouflage off

You’d see someone weak and lonely

And you still wouldn’t understand

No one knows the real me

And no one ever will
