THANKSGIVING

FOR 8 GUESTS

Thanksgiving. The very mention of the word instantly conjures up a host of wonderful images: beloved friends and family gathered together; a golden turkey waiting to be carved; bowls overflowing with the bounty of the season.

On the South Beach Diet, there’s no skimping when it comes to America’s favorite food holiday. Classic trimmings such as hearty pear and sausage stuffing, fruity cranberry-orange compote, and warm, garlicky green beans accompany the tender and juicy bird. And for the grand finale, there’s creamy pumpkin pie.

Decor for this occasion can be as lush as the meal or as simple as a centerpiece of dried flowers and berry stems. With a box of crayons and a pile of blank index cards, kids can make a colorful autumn leaf or turkey place cards.

Because Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on your good fortune, take a moment to acknowledge the most important—your health! Applaud your daily efforts to improve your well-being and then . . . get ready to celebrate with this satisfying holiday meal.
