ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Katie Livingston lives in Middletown, Connecticut, where she attends Wesleyan University for a BA in English. She spent her high school years tending chickens and writing speculative fiction novels, since there wasn’t much else to do smack in the middle of rural Oklahoma. She is a fan of Stephen King novels, ’80s horror flicks, rural living, and cats—all of which inspire her work. Katie hopes to attend graduate school for American literature so that she can continue learning, reading, and writing for many years to come.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

John Dale Javier was born in 2000 in Queens, New York, but lived most of his childhood in La Plata, Maryland.

Unlike most artists, his interest in art didn’t start until his second year of high school. Until then he was studying to become a programmer. He changed his career path after being encouraged by his mentor and colleagues and began self-study in both traditional and digital painting.

His inspiration was found in what entertained him in his youth—video games. From sci-fi to medieval, John would build on top of his favorite games and even create his own fictional worlds.

John is currently pursuing a double major in both illustration and game design at Maryland Institute College of Art and is working to break into the videogame industry.
