I am truly proud of this personal recipe book, which was—until now—just a workbook, written by hand, worn out, and full of stains. Today that workbook has become this book thanks to the many people who put up with me: testers, supporters, sources of inspiration, editors, and so on.
Huge thanks first of all to Marabout, to Emmanuel and Amaryllis, who gave me the opportunity to write this book and who believed in me. Thanks to them, this book is really beautiful, personal, and original. Thanks also to Fred and Sonia Lucano for the magnificent photographs and to the baby models who really got into the spirit. And a giant merci to Cédrine Meier—who, thanks to her formidable talent for writing, helped me make the text readable, relevant, and funny.
Great thanks, as well, to my friend Dr. Jean Lalau Keraly, who has supported me from the very first day, who is always on hand with advice, and who is extremely generous with his time.
Thank you to The Experiment for allowing this book to reach its North American audience, including my American editor Cara Bedick, managing editor Karen Giangreco, publisher Matthew Lore, and everyone else who pitched in on this edition. It also wouldn’t have been possible without the translation skills of Christine Buckley.
I also want to pay homage to my husband, David, who through his support, tolerance, and involvement in our family allowed me to throw myself into the crazy adventure that is Baby Meals (Les Menus Bébé), as well as work day and night on this book.
Finally, the biggest thanks of all to my children, Maya and Milo. You are my reason for living and my inspiration. All of this is thanks to you. I love you like crazy!
Thanks to White and Brown household appliances.
All the babies in this book were dressed by Lily & the Funky Boys. Thanks, Esther!
