What’s on the CD

In order to use drawing as a tool for visualizing, exploring, and communicating design ideas, we must understand the pictorial language of drawing. The CD-ROM that accompanies this book facilitates further exploration into the relationship between a three-dimensional subject and its two-dimensional representation in a drawing. With the benefit of three-dimensional animations, video clips, and explanatory audio, the modules on this CD-ROM elucidate the principal projection systems and drawing techniques in a way that is not possible on the printed page. Added to this second edition are short videos of sketching on location. In many ways, this CD-ROM represents an experiment in communicating design drawing concepts and techniques and we welcome any feedback, which we encourage you to forward to the publisher.

Special thanks go to Nan-Ching Tai, who was responsible for developing, executing, and greatly improving the animations from the first edition.
