A wise person does not look where they fell…
a wise person looks where they slipped.
—African Proverb
This is a story about choices.
My story’s main character is good-hearted but augmented some of his choices by abusing alcohol, ignoring important people in his life and being unfaithful to his spouse, to name a few bad choices. Even the positive choice regarding higher education was polluted by his future arrogance.
My hope is my audience will make choices that align with your personal core values and purpose in life. The true message of this fictional account is not to make perfect choices. We are human, so living a mistake-free life is beyond our capability. Rather, my message is when making your choices, plan for destinations that reflect who you truly are or want to be and recover whenever you feel you are off your chosen path.
Remember---resilience involves preparing for life’s inevitable storms, withstanding the storm, then learning lessons from the experience so you can prepare all over again.
I thank you for joining me on this literary journey. I hope you enjoyed this account and look forward to seeing you again.
If you don’t know where you’re going, ANY
road will take you there.
