Dense like a brownie, this cake is great for when you feel like a nut. Candy bar craving, solved.

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9" × 13" baking dish.
2. In a small bowl, mix flaxseeds and water; set aside.
3. In a mixer, cream butter, almond extract, and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flaxseed mixture and mix.
4. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add to the creamed butter mixture.
5. Pour half of batter into prepared baking dish and top with coconut and 3/4 cup chopped almonds. Pour in the other half of batter. Sprinkle with remaining almonds.
6. Bake 30 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
