Chapter Ten

William sat on his sofa, hands on his head. Once he realized she was going back to her world and leaving without so much as a goodbye, he felt his heart start aching. He didn’t know if he would be seeing her again, or if something had happened to her.

He hadn’t noticed Ariella as she arrived in his bedroom just a few minutes ago. She walked quietly into his living room, seeing him with his head hung low in his hands.

As she took delicate steps to reach him, she whispered, “My love, I am here.”

Will jumped up, startled. “Aria! You came back!”

“Of course, I came back. There was never the chance that I wouldn’t. With you is where I belong. You are my home.”

“But you left so suddenly. I thought you were done with me, with us, and everything. I was so lost wondering what had happened, or if he had done something to you.”

“I’m fine, my Will. In the end, Abraham got what he deserved,” she said.

He had never heard her call her father by his name before, and the sound of it was peculiar, it making him all the more real.

“Got what he deserved?” he questioned.

She nodded. “It’s a long story, my love, but trust me, it’s a good one with a beautiful, happy ending.” She smiled at him then reached out for him to come to her.

He grabbed her hands and got up to hold her.

“Would you tell me it some time?” he asked.

Wrapping her arms around his neck, she said, “Someday, yes. Not today, though.”

“What do you want to do today, my Aria?”

He softly kissed her forehead as they continued holding each other, neither one of them wanting to let go for even a second.

“I want to spend the rest of the day in bed with you. I want to stare into your eyes, as you’re looking back into mine. I want to start my happily ever after with you, right now.”

He kissed her lips softly, promising her all that she had asked for with just that one kiss.

“Anything you want, my Aria. I’ll do anything for you, for the rest of my life.”

“I love you, my sweet Will,” Ariella stated.

“I love you, too, Aria mia.”

“Aria mia?” she asked.

“Yes, baby. My air. My Aria. Aria mia.”
