HIS GLORY
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
—ISAIAH 60:1-3 KJV
There is a powerful force of God that comes when His heavy weight of glory comes on you. I have had many personal prophetic moments in God’s presence when He did things that only God can do. I am not trying to be like Moses the prophet, asking to see His glory, but I want to carry it. God is raising up glory carriers who are able to release it to see societal, spiritual, economical, and holistic transformation. God’s glory brings change, blessings, favor, power, and correction or judgment to anything that is not like God.
There is nothing like the glory of God operating in your life. Why? Because miracles, signs, wonders, and the prophetic voice of God are manifested. God doesn’t just want to anoint us with His Holy Spirit but to anoint us with His glory as His children. God speaks through His glory, which is manifested in the supernatural results that you witness.
When the glory of God is present upon a person, it causes them to bow down and bow out and become subject to the King of Glory. The priests in the Old Testament couldn’t stand to minister because of the glory. The glory of God is not something we are to take lightly. The glory of God speaks of God’s creativity and nature. The glory of God is found in this particular Scripture:
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun (Psalm 19:1-4 KJV).
The glory of God reveals the beauty of His spirit. We must understand that the glory of the Lord is not an aesthetic beauty or a material beauty, but it is the beauty that emanates from the Lord’s character and from all that He is, was, and is to become. James 1:10 illustrates the word glory when it calls on a rich man to “glory in his humiliation,” indicating a glory that does not mean natural, worldly riches or power, fame, or material beauty. The glory of the Lord can fill the earth or crown humanity.
Furthermore, the glory of the Lord can be visibly seen within man and witnessed in the earth realm, but it is not of them; this glory is of and from God. The glory of man is the beauty of man’s spirit, which is fallible and will over time pass away, and is therefore humiliating. But the glory of God is eternal and does not pass away because His glory is manifested in all His attributes together.
In the glory we can hear the voice of the Lord as well as feel the weight of His presence. There are times when I hear the voice of God in His presence in prayer or worship. I love what Isaiah 43:7 shares—that God created us for His glory. In context with the other verses, it can be said that man “glorifies” God because through man God’s glory can be seen in things such as worship, prayer, love, music, heroism, mercy, grace, praise, and so on—such things belonging to the Lord Himself that we are carrying “in jars of clay” (see 2 Cor. 4:7).
We were created for His glory and we become vessels that are able to host His presence. We become “glory vessels” who contain and release His glory. Our source is found in God, and we are able to do all things. God interacts with nature, as nature created by God also exhibits His glory. His glory is revealed to man’s mind through the material world in many ways, and often in different ways to different people.
When I look at the vastness of the sea, I think about the awesomeness of God’s glory and what He created with His Word. Some people are awestruck by the sight of the sun, moon, stars, or snow-capped mountains, while another person loves the beauty of forest or ocean. But that which is behind it all (God’s glory) speaks to both people and connects them to God.
My second book, called Heaven Declares: Prophetic Decrees to Start Your Day, which is a 90-day devotional, helps readers to hear the voice of God while understanding His glory in what He has created. God desires to speak simply through what He has created. God is more than able to reveal Himself to all men, no matter their background, race, age, heritage, or geographical location.
The heavens are speaking of the glory of God and declaring the works of God’s hands. Each day pours forth speech, and night after night brings revelation knowledge. We can hear the voice of God anywhere, any place, to the four corners of the earth. It doesn’t matter where you are in life, God will break through to speak to you personally while revealing His glory to you daily and nightly. We must understand that God will always speak when we spend time with Him in His presence.
God’s presence will also speak of His glory. When we soak and marinate in the presence of God, He will come to speak! The glory of God is so weighty that a person can’t even stand or speak. When I am worship, prayer, fasting, or studying the Word of God, the presence of God is so thick and strong that I hear or feel His presence moving upon me. I often cry, fall on my face, or be still before Him. I just love being in the presence of God. In His glory is where I get a lot of personal healing, deliverance, correction, and refreshing. The Bible says in Acts 3:20, “that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you.” If you want to continue to hear the voice of God and stay refreshed, make sure you stay in the presence of God and keep your heart pure.
