Fresh juices and my easy Simple Honey Syrup create a margarita with all the tart, slightly sweet flavor that I love. But the calories and sugar are drastically lower when compared to a margarita of similar size made with a standard syrup or mixer. Add a little bit of club soda if you like to sip on your drink a bit longer.
1/4 cup Simple Honey Syrup
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
6 tablespoons (3 ounces) blanco tequila
Ice
1/2 cup club soda (optional)
1 Combine the honey syrup, lime juice, orange juice, and tequila in a cocktail shaker, and add enough ice to fill the shaker. Cover with the lid and shake vigorously until chilled, about 30 seconds.
2 Fill two glasses with ice, and strain the tequila mixture evenly into the glasses. Top each with club soda for a taller drink, if desired.
