This book is for the future of our world, for the indigenous people and all the others who care for our forests and the lands we want to keep whole.
I dedicate this not only to our incomparable planet with its great waters, old-growth forests, and old-growth people, but also to our young.
This is an offering to my beautiful grandchildren; the two Michaels (may you give back something to this earth); Danielle and Cami, with their already great offerings to the future; and to my sister/daughter Kathy, who nurtured these; and for Vivian Marie Park, granddaughter who was so much of my life for so many years; and for my dearest and very missed Tanya, with such special memories of our life together. This is to healing for Sandra. But above all this book is for Jayla, great-grandchild who will inherit this future. May you remember to care for this earth, all we have.
