Weekend Fling was not an easy book to write. When I was supposed to start writing this book, one of my best friends took her own life. As much as I wanted Weekend Fling to be as fun and light-hearted as the rest in this series, I simply couldn’t get there fully. It’s taken a long time in my work this year to push past the emotional toll her suicide has left on my heart. While Weekend Fling didn’t dive too deeply into depression and suicide and mental health, I want you to know I didn’t intentionally try to gloss over it either. For my own healing, I needed to address it while still trying to keep the overall feeling of Weekend Fling consistent with the rest of the series. But please know, if you suffer mentally, I am praying for you. If you are depressed, PLEASE seek help. No matter how lost and alone you may feel, there are people in your life who need you. I promise you.
Huge thank you to Kathryn McCrane, BN Toler, Tonya Rapp, and Hilary Suppes, who all played vital roles in ensuring Weekend Fling was the best it could be.
Special, enormous thank-you to my family, who is always here, cheering me on and being so patient when I’m in my office. Your support is everything to me and I love you all with all of my heart.
