Up close, the block is in fact a four-sided
polygon—a trapezoid, with Ensign
Dale Court and the gazetted but uncleared
laneway making a pair of parallel
sides: the base sides. The sum of the angles
of ‘the block’, the trapezoid, does in fact
come to three hundred and sixty degrees,
though, honestly, it seems to be slightly
more than this—casual tools of measurement
one way to account for anomaly.
A portal into the district, mountain,
alternative growth, it’s preferable—
maybe—to talk of the circumference
of place. Maybe, this is the broad-acre
view through a five-point-five-acre window,
inside of which is neither void nor place.
