There are numerous ways to make pesto interesting: instead of using the traditional basil recipe, you can switch up the herbs or add different kinds of nuts or cheese. Pesto is a frequently made condiment in our house, and for me, the sky is the limit with this basic staple.
I use it as a sauce instead of a traditional red sauce on our pizzas. I’ll toss it with pasta, or put it into a grilled cheese sandwich along with fresh slices of tomato and mozzarella cheese. I’ll even turn pesto into a vinaigrette to use in my Roasted Beets with Parsley Pesto Vinaigrette.
A good pesto is true perfection and can be used for many different things.
