I’ve created six seasoning blends that I use all the time. With these mixes on hand, your kitchen will be well stocked to add a flavor boost to meals morning, noon, and night!
I use the All-Purpose Seasoned Salt to season my morning fried eggs, or when making my family’s favorite fried egg side dish, Breakfast Home Fries. The adobo seasoning works well with pretty much anything on and off the grill, and it’s especially handy when making my Spicy Southwest Dip. The Italian seasoning will blow your mind (in a good way!). Try sprinkling it on tomatoes with a little salt and pepper before roasting them. Unbelievable. Promise.
Making your own seasoning blends takes just a few minutes and is a great way to use up those spices in your cupboard before they expire. I love to make my own spice mixes to save money. Who doesn’t love that?
NOTE: I always rub dried oregano (and sometimes dried basil) in the palm of my hand before adding to sauces, dressings, and seasoning blends. By crushing the leaves they become smaller, and I feel it releases more of the herbs’ flavors. And plus, I’ve always seen my mom do it this way.
