Italian Dressinade

MAKES 1 CUP • TOTAL TIME: 15 MINUTES

INGREDIENTS:

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small shallot, minced (about 2 tablespoons)

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

¾ teaspoon kosher salt

½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

¼ cup red wine vinegar

½ cup olive oil

For a creamy version, try adding a couple of tablespoons of mayonnaise.
