I am woman.

Hand me pain and I will turn it into poetry

Wound, and watch as I morph into wisdom

Every stone I will take as my opportunity to climb

Adversity is but an anniversary for my next, new talent.

I am woman.

Hurt me, and I will find a way to love you, nonetheless

For I have the power to do so.

I will love, but rest assured,

I will leave, and love from afar.

You will never know love, forgiveness, or loss

like mine.

I am woman.

Give me straw and earth;

Witness as I midwife mundanity into magic

For in my limbs I hold inherited spells

from my mother, her mother, and hers.

In my blood pulses the anthem they have taught me to sing

In my womb glows the power to birth change

In my mouth live both honey and swords

In my hands shimmers revolution.

I am woman.

I stand as one, but I exist as thousands.

Ever tied to my sisters, mothers, daughters.

Who we are. What we are. How we are.

Magnificent.

I am woman. Every day, ours.
