ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Michael C. Seto, PhD,
is a psychologist with the Law and Mental Health Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is also cross-appointed as an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry and the Centre of Criminology at the University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is on the editorial boards of the journals Archives of Sexual Behavior
and Sexual Abuse: A Journal of Research and Treatment
. His extensive publications and presentations on pedophilia and sexual offending against children include the first follow-up study of child pornography offenders and an influential quantitative review of psychological treatment outcome for sex offenders. His other research interests include the nature and causes of paraphilias, offender risk assessment, and psychopathy. His research has been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Ontario Mental Health Foundation. Some of his recent work was published in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology
