Gratitude and Appreciation
So many people have been involved in the process of creating the Memory Rescue program and this book. I am grateful to them all, especially the tens of thousands of patients and families who have come to Amen Clinics and allowed us to help them on their healing journey.
I am grateful to the amazing staff at Amen Clinics, who work hard every day serving our patients. Thanks to our creative team, including CJ Ramos and Shabnam Agahi, for creating many of the illustrations in the book. Special appreciation to Jenny Cook, who helped me craft the book to make it easily accessible to our readers. I hope you agree. I also thank our fearless leader, CEO Terry Weber, and my colleagues Dr. Parris Kidd, Dr. Rob Johnson, Lorenzo Sevilla, and Natalie Buchoz, who also read every word in this book to be sure it makes sense.
I am grateful to Jan Long Harris at Tyndale, who saw the potential for this book to help many people, and my editor, Kim Miller, who helped make this book the best it can be.
I remain grateful to my friends and colleagues at public television stations across the country, including my mentors and friends Alan Foster, BaBette Davidson, Alicia Steele, Kurt Mendelsohn, Greg Sherwood, Camille Dixon, Stacey Wiggins, Maura Phinney, Henry Brodersen, Jerry Liwanag, Suzanne Fiske, Claire O’Connor-Solomon, and countless others. Public television is a treasure, and we are grateful to be able to partner with stations to bring our message of hope and healing to millions of people.
Of course, I am grateful to my amazing wife, Tana, who is my partner in all I do, and to my family, who have tolerated my obsession with making brains better, especially my children, Antony, Breanne, Kaitlyn, and Chloe; grandchildren; and parents, Mary Meeks (Tana’s mom) and Louis and Dorie Amen.
