As always, I appreciate the entire Bold Strokes Books team and their unflagging patience and attention to detail. Special thanks to Barbara Ann Wright, whose humor during the first edits was a great source of encouragement, and whose replies to my whining 1:00 a.m. emails helped keep me sane—or whatever semblance of that state exists for authors these days. I’m already preparing my “feelings” for the next one. And to Stacia, the last, best line of defense against errors. You rock!
Getting two books out in one year was a dream come true. Unfortunately, I picked a nightmare year to achieve it. To those folks I didn’t get to visit with at Pride events or the GCLS convention or any of the other canceled outings—I miss you and hope to see you next year! And kudos to all those who have made do with online events as we work our way through a new (hopefully temporary) normal. And, like all of us, I owe boundless gratitude to the “essential workers” without whom even our bizarre pandemic lives would not be possible. Consider this a virtual hug.
My gratitude to those who beta read, or beta talked, through the early stages of this story, and to Julie R, who did an amazing job of helping with my proofs. And to my writing group: Kimberly, Janeen, Millie, and Avery—your humanity and dedication are a weekly inspiration. Thanks so much for letting me join in.
