Writing a book is hard work! And like any tough endeavour it takes an entire team. That’s why big thanks must go to my fantastic agent Kate Burke of Blake Friedmann – I am grateful for your support on a daily basis. Likewise, I have been lucky enough to have the most gifted editor in Hannah Smith. Hannah, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your ability to make a good book a brilliant one – thank you a million times over for your fantastic suggestions, oh, and the pack that I am lost without these days that we all know is yours really! To Vicky Joss who makes social media look like a walk in the park rather than the art form it really is – thank you so much for your patience with my stupid social media questions and for all your brilliant hard work to make this book a success. Thanks must also go to the lovely Laura Palmer who believed in this story from day one and has been kind, helpful and unbelievably generous with her time.

To everyone at the Alzheimer’s Society, huge thanks to you for your help and patience with my research, it’s very much appreciated. Any errors contained within these pages are entirely of my own making.

To all the Aria authors: thank you for being so darned supportive! Truly, you are a fantastic, welcoming bunch and I’m very proud to be a part of the Aria family.

And of course a very special thanks must go to my family and friends who forever put up with me scribbling an idea down during a lunch date, or running plot ideas past them. I know it’s dull, but I love you all for never saying so.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, a huge thank you to you, dear reader, for picking up this book and taking a chance. There are a gazillion, zazillion (real number, I’m an author, I checked) books out there for you to read and the fact that you chose to spend time in the company of Lydia and Erin is something I’m thrilled about so thank you.

Like every author I love to connect with readers and although I have written this book under the name Abby Williams, if you would like to say hello, then you should know my real name is Fiona Ford and you can find me at facebook.com/fionafordauthor.
