The spanwise force caused the outboard end of the flaperon to crush into the inboard end of the outboard flap (see Figure 15). Note that some of the outermost structure at the bottom/rear of the flaperon is gone. That is the part that actually caused some of the black smudging, and the material broke off when the crushing contact happened.
We can examine this black smudging even more closely, and extract additional evidence. Figure 16 is used for reference in the explanations that follow.
