Australian Outback

“Add Super Australian Outback Expertise then - give unto me - Super Speed ability!” As soon as the last word of the chant left his mouth, all of Sam’s six spindly legs stretched out to the sides, and his wings began to beat faster and faster, causing a mini tornado. A second later, Sam tucked his six legs under him and literally flew into a blur of forward motion. Now Sam could begin saving Molly in super speed mode!

Then, in the blink of an eye, a flash of lightning and a clap of thunder, Sam’s little bug head wore an Australian Outback hat, the type that had pieces of cork dangling from the brim. The dangling corks were supposed to distract and ward off any pesky flies from landing!

Sam blew a sigh of relief, his mouth forming a little smile. The dangling corks moved every time he moved his head, body, legs or wings. It took a little getting used to since it was indeed very distracting, but Sam thought it was cool.

The only thing he could not understand was why he’d begun to speak with an Australian accent, even in his thoughts… but that was kinda cool too! And now Sam could begin Molly’s rescue, in super speed, Australian Outback mode!

Sam started to cut away at the spider’s web. With each precise stroke of his knife, a stringy piece of web was released. At last, Molly could move one leg, then the next and the next… until all six legs had been set free! When the last leg had been released, she raised it high in the air triumphantly, or possibly more with relief as Molly anticipated the freedom she was about to have.

Just as the spider reached them and lifted up, prepared to strike, Sam and Molly broke free at last and flew away, Sam pulling her along with his super speed – they were like pygmy warrior darts speeding through the air!
