⁶⁷ Jack had been elected President of the Martlets on 15 October 1919 and he was prevailed upon to retain the position until 13 June 1921. The paper which he read in Cambridge on ‘Narrative Poetry’ was read to the Oxford Martlets on 3 November 1920.
