Dee Rissik is of a typically mixed background common to many in South Africa. Her father’s family is from generations-old Cape Dutch origins, while her mother’s side is of British ancestry. A journalist by profession, she finds it an ideal career as it coexists with her penchant for travelling. Her home base is Johannesburg, with a bit of London thrown in too, but she believes she can live anywhere in the world for a period of time to gain cultural experience on a multidimensional level. Having lived and/or worked in many parts of Africa, South-east Asia, Europe including London, as well as Canada and New York, she has first-hand experiences of being a newcomer to a number of countries and cities.
A published writer many times over, she has written for a wide range of newspapers and magazines on topics ranging from business and socio-economic issues to travel, well-being and fitness. Dee is also the author of the book, Women In Society, South Africa published by Times Books International (now Marshall Cavendish International) and is currently working on a biography of a controversial African leader.
