Dior mixed the dressing while Donna prepped the ham.
“It’s almost time,” Dior said with a silly smile as she finished up the dressing.
“For what?” Breeze asked.
“Home Alone,” Dior almost yelled.
“What?” Breeze asked.
“The movie. Don’t tell me you never watched it,” Dior said with wide eyes.
“I don’t think I have.”
“Oh my God. You gotta be kiddin’ me. It’s great,” she added with a smile.
“It’s not,” Donna said as she placed the ham and the dressing into the oven.
“You love it and you know you do.”
“If I never saw Macaulay Culkin again that would be just fine with me.”
Donna and Dior joked and had fun with each other like Breeze and Lauren never had.
Breeze checked her phone for missed calls as she sat down. She secretly wanted to talk to her mother and sister, especially her sister, but she wouldn’t admit it. It was just like Lauren to leave town around the holidays and not tell her. Bitter bitch, she thought.

Breeze felt right at home as she sat on the couch watching some crazy movie about a little white boy that was accidentally left at home while his family went out of town for Christmas. She’d never seen it, but it was a funny little movie and she could see why her corny ass friend liked it.
Hell, Breeze could relate to it. Lauren had left her home alone. She had known that her mother was cold, but she was still a little hurt. How could she not even mention to Breeze that she was leaving town?
Then again, Breeze would have been with Primo if she could have been. If he hadn’t ditched her, Lauren would have been the furthest thing from her mind.
