Dior hadn’t believed it at first, but four months later he record was still clean and clear. Primo had come through for her and Breeze.
As she thought about it, she was surprised that he and Breeze were still together. Maybe she’d had him pegged all wrong.
She stopped thinking about Primo as she joined Brian on the couch.
“When you goin’ to get yo’ prom dress?” he asked.
“I’m not goin’ to junior prom. My mama already gon’ have to spend a lot of money next year wit’ prom and graduation, so I’ll just do one prom,” she explained.
“So you want me take big booty Brittney?” he asked.
“Yeah, play wit’ me if you want to,” she said as she elbowed him in the stomach.
“Ahh.” He groaned. “Who else I’m supposed to take if you don’t wanna go?”
“I wanna go, but I don’t wanna ask my mama for the money.” Dior knew that Donna would pick up extra shifts if she told her that she wanted to go to prom, but she didn’t want to stress her mother out. Donna already went above and beyond to take care of her.
“What if I buy yo’ dress?” Brian asked.
“You would do that?” she asked as she looked up at him.
“Yeah. It’s gon’ be my last event besides graduation, it would be nice if you was there,” he told her.
“Awww,” she cooed before she kissed him. “Yeah ,I’ll go wit’ you,” she told him.
