Chapter 78

“Since when are you so supportive of my friendship with Breeze?” Dior asked as she and Brian lay in bed together.

“Since I realized I was bein’ selfish and unrealistic,” he lied.

“Really?”

“Yeah. Ya’ll like Tweedledee and Tweedledum,” he teased.

“Whatever.” She laughed as she punched him in the stomach.

“Ahh.” He groaned. “I know Breeze yo’ girl and I don’t wanna be the one to come between ya’ll,” he told her, sounding very sincere.

Dior rested her head on his chest and thought about Breeze. She knew Breeze and she knew that her friend would never intentionally do anything to hurt her or Brian.

Sometimes unfortunate things happened and there was nothing you could do about it. Dior decided that she was going to call her best friend the next day.

“How much money you think he keep in his house?”

“Who?” Dior asked.

“Primo.”

“I don’t know. Why?”

“If we could rob him we’d be—”

“What?”

“You know I wouldn’t normally suggest nothin’ like that but these ain’t normal circumstances. These medical bill payments cool but we deserve more. Our child gon’ need more.

The more money we can get our hands on the better off we’ll be. You gotta pay for college, child care, all types of shit.”

“I know but that’s crazy.”

“Not really.”

“I hope you jokin’. Goodnight.”

Dior couldn’t believe what Brian had just said. How would they rob Primo? Why was she even thinking about it? It was ridiculous.
